As a Killa lover who has cycled through all the flavours multiple times, I am thrilled to see some exciting new tastes added to the lineup. Following the great success of the Pablo exclusive line N.G.P has blessed us with Killa Exclusives! There are twelve new exciting flavours on the way and we are lucky to have an early hands on. I’m excited to present you the Killa Blue Raspberry review. At a product level, Killa Exclusive seems to be no different to the popular Killa Snus nicotine pouches. Completely tobacco-free, with the same moist consistency and well-loved Killa strength.
Packaging 8/10
Now when it comes to the packaging you can expect the same white packaging seen on the Pablo Exclusive lines just slightly adjusted for Killa. If you have read my other reviews you can expect I am a huge fan of this change. The imagery on original Killa and Pablo products has always been quite derogatory and controversial to me, the skulls, guns and what-not have never been something I have wanted to put on my desk at work… However, this clean white packaging is something I can appreciate, more mature and presentable, love it. The can itself is high quality, tightly packaged lightweight and robust. Seamlessly placed stickers and an overall premium feel. The can features the same deep disposal compartment with the N.G.P logo found on other Killa products. In my opinion, one of the most functional waste compartments out of all the snus brands. It never comes loose and you can easily fit five pouches in there.
Smell Test 10/10
The smell test… My first reaction to this flavour was WOW. The best way to describe this is that it is reminiscent of a blue raspberry soda or ice lolly. It’s as if you can smell the fizz. The raspberry is nice and light but accompanied by a deep sweet aroma. On the back end, it features Sherbet-like notes and is super refreshing. If you’re a fan of sweet things this one is for you.
Pouch Composition 20/20
If you’re a frequent Killa user you will know that sometimes the pouches have a brown tint and sometimes white. I don’t know the science behind this but for some reason, I feel like the white pouches are a better experience. The pouch has the typical moist pouch consistency Killa is renowned for, some love it some hate it, I like moist pouch consistency and the moisture balance on this pouch is perfectly silky.
When this pouch is placed on the gum there is minimal burning sensation compared to the mint variations of Killa, I am a big fan of the lack of tingling however I know some of you enjoy the tingles. So do with this information what you will.
The pouch shape is great, the filling is evenly distributed to create a perfectly soft pillow. The paper used is a nice thickness and the pouch is robust meaning it is unlikely to split unless you have a faulty batch. The pouch is slim, which allows for discreet use.
Flavour 20/20
As usual, flavour is subjective but this was a great experience if you are someone with a sweet tooth. It tastes exactly like it smells. The raspberry flavour is airy and light but is shortly accompanied by a deep sweet soda or juice-like taste which compliments the raspberry nicely. On the back end of the taste, you will experience a tangy “fizz” like aroma that is hard to explain, almost like sherbet. This flavour is refreshing and perfect for the summer. I am reminded of being a kid and having a cold blue ice lolly on a hot summer day.
As mentioned the flavour is rather light and airy so it does disappear a little quicker than other deep flavours such as Grape Ice which is a downside especially if you are someone who likes to keep pouches in for a longer time.
Another positive is that this flavour didn’t cause a lot of nasty-tasting saliva that often happens with some nicotine pouches. Overall really enjoyed this flavour.
Strength 14/20
At the usual 16mg per gram (12.8mg per pouch) there were no surprises, as a long-time Killa user I knew what to expect and I experienced just that. If you have not used Killa before, although it is only 16mg/g you can expect it to hit harder than the Velo’s or Nordic Spirit’s you may have been using. It is strong but not insanely overwhelming this pouch would be perfect for you if you have been using something like Velo and are looking for something that packs a bit more of a punch.
Longevity 12/20
These pouches stand the test of quality and last long enough for most people to be satisfied before discarding them. The flavour overall is quite light so it does not last as long as variations such as Killa Grape Ice, but it lasts longer than some other popular flavours such as watermelon. I kept this pouch in the upper deck for around 10 minutes and enjoyed it the whole time. The strength was consistent throughout and was released slowly. Overall a comfortable and enjoyable ride.
Pros & Cons
Pros
Amazing taste.
Less tingling sensation than in other Killa flavours.
Perfect pouch composition if you like moist pouches.
Cons
The flavour doesn’t last as long as some other variations.
Verdict & Score 84
If I had to guess, I would assume this will quickly become one of the best-selling flavours of Killa. The thing with raspberry flavour nicotine pouches and snus is that it is often never pulled off well. Killa Exclusive Blue Raspberry breaks this trend and offers a unique blue raspberry soda taste, definitely something never seen before and is overall great.
Who is it for?
This product is perfect for those who have been using products like Velo and seek something with a bit more oomph. If you like sweet flavours over mint this is one for you as it lacks any ice or mint notes.
The new packaging design also serves a far less controversial appearance, making the product suitable for almost anyone even professionals. Whereas, with other Killa variations I would say the design is suited to a younger or informal audience. This is not an issue with the exclusive line!
