Greatest Snus Review: The GOAT Mint Pouch?
In recent months you may have seen the infamous Greatest Cold Dry on social media or your favourite snus store. This pouch has come out of nowhere and seems to be a hit! The can itself claims to be “white gold” and in this comprehensive review of the product I will put it to the test and see if it lives up to the name. Greatest is produced by Premium Pouch Global, a new nicotine pouch manufacturer founded in 2022 based in Finland. They may be new on the scene but their products have taken the market by storm due to their commitment to producing quality products, modern marketing strategies and friendly team. Their products are now available in over 30 countries and have become extremely popular throughout the European Union in particular.
Packaging 7/10
First off, the can feels genuinely premium. It’s got that flush matte finish no jagged edges, no cheap plastic vibes. It’s light in the hand but sturdy, with a satisfying click when you close it. Even the storage tray for used pouches is well thought out. It’s deep enough to stash a good few, which is perfect if you’re mid-journey or nowhere near a bin. Proper handy.
Now, the design. I’m torn. It’s not loud, bright, or flashy but it somehow balances modern, clean professionalism with a bit of youth appeal. Nothing about it screams for attention, and I can’t say I love it visually. Still, it’s not trying too hard either. If an 18-year-old had this in their hand, it wouldn’t look out of place. The same goes for someone in their 30s. That’s the thing it doesn’t lean too far in any direction. Not like Killa or Pablo with their polarising, in-your-face branding, nor as buttoned-up and, dare I say, boring as Nordic Spirit.
The white and grey base is clean, with subtle green accents that give it a bit of life. But the standout? That GOAT logo. It’s a clever nod, the name ‘Greatest’ paired with the GOAT symbol is a subtle pop culture reference younger users will catch, while still keeping things mature and tidy. Smart move.
And credit where it’s due, the can’s made from recyclable materials, with instructions right on the side to empty and recycle. That kind of environmental consideration is rare in this space, and it definitely adds to their credibility.
Smell Test 7/10
Now, I’ll be straight, I’m not a mint lover. So I’ll try to keep things balanced here and push past the involuntary shivers that hit me whenever I crack open a mint pouch. That said, credit where it’s due.
The scent is about as classic as it gets for mint snus. It reminds me of the old-school Oden’s Cold Dry but with a cleaner, more modern twist. No tobacco funk just a sharp, icy aroma that hits fast. Interestingly, the product was originally called Sweet Peppermint before they changed the name to Cold Dry. But it seems some of that peppermint DNA stuck around because there’s a soft peppermint note that lingers politely on the back end. It’s got that clinical, toothpaste-level freshness the kind that slaps you awake whether you asked for it or not.
To be fair, if you’re into mint, this will probably smell like home. It’s familiar, punchy, and fresh. Even from a non-mint fan’s point of view, it doesn’t smell fake or overly sweet. There’s none of that spearmint-gone-wrong disaster you get with cheaper pouches. It’s sharp, clean, and well-balanced. Can’t fault it.
Pouch Composition – 20/20
The pouch composition is easily the star of the show, wow! These are silky, well-crafted, and clearly premium. No loose filling rattling around, no split seams, no mess. Straight out of the can, they look and feel top-tier.
Moisture-wise, they’ve nailed it. Not bone dry, but not extremely wet like some Killa pouches either. The balance is spot on. Moist enough for a smooth, comfortable fit in the upper deck, but dry enough that it stays in place without sliding around. Once it’s been sitting for a bit and soaks up a bit of saliva, it becomes practically unnoticeable, and super comfy. No nasty drip creeping down your throat like you get with some overly juicy pouches. None of that here.
As for the format, they’re slim, but nicely packed, that perfect little pillow shape you hope for. No uneven fill, and no need to massage the pouch into place like you do with the lower quality stuff. The paper is high quality, and the seam feels solid and secure. On first impression, this is not a pouch you’ll need to baby. No fear of it bursting mid-sesh and leaving you with a mouthful of powder, and if you’ve had that happen before, you know it’s trauma you don’t forget.
One tip: I’d strongly recommend chucking these in the fridge. They’re perfect straight out of the tin, and if you want to keep that experience consistent, a bit of cold storage helps preserve the moisture, flavour, and overall shelf life.
Flavour 16/20
Flavour is always subjective, and as I’ve mentioned, I’m not a huge mint guy. That said, when mint is done right, I’ll happily reach for it and this one, surprisingly, is done right. My score isn’t just about personal taste either. I’m rating it on the full experience: flavour intensity, balance, duration, and overall execution. Does it taste natural or artificial? Harsh or smooth?
Straight away, it hits with a very classic mint profile. It’s clearly designed with the EU crowd in mind. Those who’ve used Oden’s Cold Dry will instantly recognise the classic vibe. This feels like a modern, tobacco-free evolution of that old-school flavour. There’s definitely a nostalgic edge here, and for long-time users like me, that earns it serious brownie points. Honestly, this might sneak its way into my rotation just for that alone.
The initial hit is a sharp, clean mint. It’s strong, but not overbearing. The tingling sensation is bang on. Enough to remind you it’s working, but not so much that you’re blinking through tears. Beginners might flinch, but seasoned snus users will appreciate the kick. What’s impressive is that it doesn’t burn in that unpleasant way some mint pouches do, the kind that feels like it’s sizzling your gum raw.
As it settles, a soft peppermint sweetness comes through and stays consistent throughout the session. I kept it in for about 25 minutes and the flavour held strong to the end. No chemical aftertaste, no sickly drip, just smooth, fresh flavour and a surprisingly comfortable ride. Even after removal, there’s a faint sweet peppermint note left behind, and the gum is still in one piece, always a bonus!
Compared to other mint products out there? This one’s right up there. Clean, consistent, and actually enjoyable even for a non-mint fan.
Strength – 17/20
Just to clarify my strength rating isn’t a scale of how strong the product is. Otherwise, low-strength pouches would always get an unfair rating. It’s based on how well the nicotine strength matches expectations and how effectively it delivers that strength.
At 16mg per gram (12mg per pouch), most of us are hoping for something that hits like Killa or at least Velo Freezing Peppermint. But as any experienced user knows, the actual “hit” can vary wildly even at the same stated strength. It depends on the nicotine quality, pH levels, moisture content, flavour additives, the list goes on. A lot of brands that advertise 16mg end up underdelivering, leaving you with a flat, forgettable pouch that makes you wish you stuck with your usual go-to.
Thankfully, Greatest Cold Dry doesn’t fall into that trap. It delivers and then some. If you’re brand new to nicotine pouches, this might be a bit much. But for anyone who’s already dabbling in mid-to-strong products, this hits a sweet spot. You feel it within 30 seconds, a quick, clean rush. Not the kind that punches you in the skull and brings on a headache, but a sharp, functional hit that gives you what you came for.
It actually hits harder than a little harder than other 12mg pouches I’ve tried, and it does so in a way that feels intentional. Not overwhelming, not underwhelming just dialled in. It’s surprisingly user-friendly too. Whether you’re coming from milder pouches or you’re a seasoned daily user, this would fit nicely into your rotation. After that initial spike, the strength levels out into a smooth, steady cruise without fading too quickly. As far as everyday use goes, this strikes the perfect balance between strength and usability.
Longevity 18/20
These pouches start strong and finish strong, it’s clear they’ve been made with the user in mind. Both the flavour and nicotine release hold their own, making for a well-paced, satisfying session.
Flavour-wise, you’re looking at a solid 25–30 minutes before things start to taper off which is longer than most people keep a pouch in anyway. It stays clean, and fresh, and doesn’t go stale or weird near the end.
The nicotine release kicks in quickly, but it doesn’t blow its load too early. You get that nice upfront hit, then a gradual, steady release that carries through the rest of the session. Nothing erratic, nothing fading out after 10 minutes. A smooth burn all the way through.

Verdict & Score 84
Greatest Cold Dry came out of nowhere and really held its own. From the high quality, eco-conscious can to the thoughtfully crafted pouch composition, it feels like a product genuinely made with the user in mind. The flavour, while simple, is nostalgic and smooth. The strength is well above average for its stated content, and the ride is consistent from start to finish.
It’s rare to find a pouch that strikes this kind of balance between comfort, performance, and polish, especially from a newer player in the game. I went in sceptical, but I’m leaving impressed. It’s not trying to be outrageous or edgy, and that might actually be its greatest strength.
Who’s it for?
If you’re already into pouches and want something reliable enough for daily use but still with a bit of bite this one’s a no-brainer. Whether you’re a student squeezing one in between lectures or an office guy looking for a clean hit with your morning coffee, it ticks a lot of boxes.
And if you’re someone who appreciates that old-school snus feel but has struggled to find a nicotine pouch that scratches that itch Greatest Cold Dry might be your best bet yet. It captures that classic essence, minus the tobacco. If they drop more flavours with this same level of quality, the competition better pay attention.
